Dublin, Ireland-based Eaton Corporation plc (ETN) operates as a power management company in the United States and internationally. Valued at a market cap of $175.4 billion, the company operates through Electrical Americas, Electrical Global, Aerospace, Vehicle, and eMobility segments. 

ETN stock has outpaced the broader market over the past year, surging 27.2% compared to the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 20.4% surge. Moreover, in 2026, the stock has risen by nearly 41.8%, outperforming the SPX's 13.7% rise.

Focusing on its industry benchmark, the State Street Industrials Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLI) has risen 23.4% over the past year, underperforming the stock. In 2026, XLI has grown 20.2% and has lagged behind the stock.   

On July 31, ETN stock rose 7.3% following the release of its better-than-expected Q2 2026 earnings. The company's revenue for the quarter amounted to $8.5 billion, surpassing the Street's estimates. Moreover, its adjusted EPS came in at $3.15, also coming in on top of Wall Street's forecasts. For the full year, ETN expects its organic growth to be in the range of 11% to 13% and its adjusted EPS to be in the range of $3.46 and $3.56. The company's impressive growth was attributed to its growing Electrical Global segment and a massive backlog of orders, as a result of the massive energy demand of the booming data center market. 

For the current year, which ends in December, analysts expect ETN's EPS to increase 12.2% to $13.54 on a diluted basis. The company met or surpassed the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.  

Among the 24 analysts covering ETN stock, the consensus is a "Strong Buy." That's based on 17 "Strong Buy" ratings, two "Moderate Buys," and five "Holds."     

The configuration has remained more or less unchanged over the past three months. 

On Aug. 11, Bernstein analyst Chad Dillard maintained a "Buy" rating for ETN stock and set a price target of $534. 

ETN's mean price target of $480.35 offers a 6.4% upside compared to the current market price. Its Street-high target of $534 implies an 18.3% upside from current levels.
