“Getting a facial was not all that. It made me break out, and I really don’t think my skin looked any different besides the small patch of acne that I didn’t have before.” "I think the worst part for me was the sales pitch throughout the entire service. I was spending money for them to insult my face over and over again, while trying to convince me that I needed to buy a million other things. I just wanted a facial; I thought it would be a luxury spa experience, but never again." "The actual buying experience can be fun, but the moment you get the thing home and unwrap all of the luxury packaging and put it in your wardrobe, all the feelings are gone, especially if it’s something as basic as a T-shirt. Almost everyone smokes because it’s the only way you get a break some days. The gossiping and bitching is out of control. You never know when your next job will come, so it’s super hard to get a mortgage or make any life plans. Most people don’t have a partner or family because the long hours and time away from home make it impossible to maintain a healthy relationship." "While I was struggling to pay bills, he was struggling to decide what car he wanted to buy next. He already had three vehicles. While I was working two jobs, he was trying to decide if he wanted to pick me up in the Mercedes or the BMW. I was supporting my mom and taking care of her, while he didn't understand what that was like because his parents had money and great healthcare. There was just a huge disparity between what was stressful for me and what was stressful for him. We didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things, and our goals in life were very different. I also felt like a freeloader sometimes, which he didn't care about, but it bothered me that he could easily pay for frivolous things while I had to pinch pennies constantly."
