Chelsea Handler Says What Many Are Thinking About Joe Rogan’s $82 Million Payday

We’re guessing that Chelsea Handler thinks he really should’ve been paid just 50 Cent. The comedian had quite a reaction to Forbes’ recent list of the “Highest Paid Podcasters of 2026,” which reported that fellow-comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan is the highest paid, raking in a whopping $82 million with his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” In its piece, the business magazine also noted that the king of manosphere could potentially make way more moola. “Joe Rogan reigns as the world’s highest-paid podcaster by pairing deep listener trust with massive scale, releasing around 15 episodes per month and attracting more than 80 million downloads and views, according to one data provider,” Forbes wrote. “In 2024, Spotify rewarded him with a new three-year contract that could reach $250 million.” The “My Horizontal Life” author was flabbergasted by the $82 million sum. “WHO IS PAYING JOE ROGAN 82 million?” an incensed Handler wrote in the comment section of Forbes’ Instagram post promoting its list. “Give that to our vets, or our children!!!” After naming two groups of people Handler felt was more deserving of that kind of payday — she expressed disgust that the former “Fear Factor” host is getting that kind of money for his…uh, “work.” “82 million to be completely uninformed and say ‘whoopsie doodle,’ every time he’s wrong, which is FREQUENT?” Handler wrote on Instagram. Handler does have a point. Although in recent years Rogan has been more critical of President Donald Trump — especially in regards of dragging the country into a war with Iran — he is still widely considered a polarizing personality. He helped normalize many of MAGA’s more troublesome beliefs, including spreading misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been called out to his face about legitimizing “dangerous” people with “shit ideas” like conspiracy theorist Ian Carroll. Despite Rogan’s massive influence, he rarely takes accountability when he gets things wrong. Last year, Rogan was completely duped by a very silly AI video of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) dancing sassily down an escalator — and wanted the video to be real so badly, that he gave his producer push back after he was informed that it was fake. After some back-and-forth with his producer who pointed out multiple reasons why the video was very clearly AI-generated, Rogan eventually said: “Do you know why I fell for it? Because I believe that he’s capable of doing something that dumb.” Handler, to be fair, may be a bit biased as well. She made her opinion of MAGA-friendly bro comedians crystal clear earlier this year at Netflix’s roast for Kevin Hart in which she targeted comedian Tony Hinchcliffe — a frequent guest on Rogan’s podcast who gained notoriety after making a joke about Puerto Rico being a “floating island of garbage” at Trump rally in 2024. After telling Hinchcliffe he had “mustard yellow” teeth, was capable of making women’s uteruses dry-heave and called out his blatant racism at the roast, Handler said: “If you’re here tonight, who’s keeping Joe Rogan’s balls warm in their mouth?” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
