Ariana Grande will take a step away from the spotlight once her tour wraps up in September as concerns for her health grow, according to her rep.

“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” a representative for Grande told People on Sunday.

“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” the rep said. “This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”

Grande has 13 more shows left on her tour, with the final stop on Sept. 1 in London. She will not perform in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Sunday in the Park with George,” which was set to open in the summer of 2027, People also reported.

Since promoting “Wicked,” Grande has faced scrutiny for her body image, leaving some to believe she might be suffering from an eating disorder.

After she released her new music video for her song “Petal” on Friday, fans became increasingly concerned for Grande because in the music video, Grande’s collarbones are very visible. Some of the top comments on the music video include: “It’s not about wanting the old Ariana back. It’s about wanting her to be healthy” and “I can see her whole skeletal system. This isn’t right.”

Model and body positivity activist Charli Howard wrote Friday on Instagram that it’s “vital” people discuss imagery like Grande’s “Petal” music video.

“WHAT YOU SEE HERE IS NOT NORMAL,” Howard wrote along with a screenshot of Grande’s music video where her bones are showing.

She continued: “What I see is someone in desperate need of hospitalisation and care, and while I know it’s often impossible to help someone at this stage of anorexia, there HAS to be an immediate intervention. Over the years, I have met numerous women who have almost died from the disease - women who will spend their lives fighting demons that tell them they are worthless and ugly. These are women that can never have children; women who starve themselves as a means to starve away any shame or inner pain they may be experiencing.”

Grande’s reps did not offer HuffPost any additional comment when asked about fans being worried about an eating disorder.

In January 2025, Grande shared a 2024 clip from the “Wicked” press tour, where she said, “There’s a comfortability that we shouldn’t have, at all, commenting on others’ looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes or health.”
