Read More There’s no need to be a sweaty, miserable gremlin this summer when cooling deodorant and chafing gel exist, my friends. As a resident writer on the BuzzFeed Shopping team, I can't believe that I get to search the internet to help you find the best, most unique, life-changing products for my job. Psst — a lot of reviewers mentioned this also helped prevent peeling and itching! Promising review: "I bought this product to take on our vacation. I am so glad I did. I got burnt on my lower legs and tops of my feet. I thought I had put enough sunscreen on. I didn't. That night, I woke with my legs and feet both burning and itching. The instant I put this on, I had relief. OMG, I cannot say enough about this stuff. Buy it. Keep it on hand. Great product. Thank you, Burt's Bees!" —D.S. Promising review: "Just tried this primer along with the E.l.f. Soft Glam Satin Foundation and I cannot say enough good things! The primer felt clean and light going on. This is hands down the best primer I have used. The two products are amazing. Def my new favs! Love love love!" —Cozette Get it from Amazon for $7+ (also available in a pack of two). Promising review: "This is a great product and gift for a beach lover. Works great and is a decent size for brushing away the sand after an amazing day at the beach! Going to buy it as a gift!! Easy to use and affordable!" —Sue Krauser Get it from Amazon for $9.99 (available in six animal prints and in sets of two or three). Promising review: "This is one of those things that I wish I'd found years earlier. I've suffered from mortifying stress-induced under-boob sweat for most of my adult life. Also, I'm a lifelong Seattle girl who gets upset when it's warmer than 65 degrees outside. So when I stumbled upon this product, I was curious enough to buy a small pack. And yes, I've come back for MORE! For real, I won't put on a bra without one of these liners now. It absorbs all the moisture from heat and stress. And because it's a really soft bamboo/cotton mix, my skin is finally not feeling tortured under there! To the makers of this ingenious life-changing product: thank you, thank you, thank you!" —Niko Get a three-pack from Amazon for $12.99+ (available in women's sizes M–XXL and in three colors or multicolor packs). Fresh Body is a small business that specializes in personal care products. Promising review: "This stuff is amazing. I am a sweaty person. Apparently, I have no thermostat because randomly, I will just start sweating and it's a lot. Well, I ended up with yeast under my breasts, and it gets red and sore. After you shower, dry off really well and apply this cream (a little dab will do ya) under your breasts and say goodbye to the inflammation and soreness. I also use it in the down there region too. I will be buying this forever." —Deb Warwick Get it from Amazon for $13.99 (also available in a pack of two, three or four). Prefer briefs? Check out this similar seamless design with rave reviews! Promising review: "After trying these, the pursuit for the most seamless underwear ended with these, and I came to write that on my way to buy a second pack. I worked at VS for three years, what seems like forever ago, and tried every “seamless” thong under the sun- at the store and otherwise- all of which rolled, were still visible, or the liner was not cotton, which just feels gross by the end of a workout or the end of the day. These aren’t that. They DISAPPEAR under all the workout attire. Anti-camel toe… HELLO?!?! They don’t hold sweat. They don’t roll. They don’t move around. I just had my fourth baby and first C-section a couple of months back, and these are wide enough in the front. What is this panty sorcery? I threw out everything else from anywhere else. Follow the size guide. I washed in warm water upon arrival, even with the red in the pack, and none of the colors bled. I’ve washed 2x, and they look the same as when I first opened the box. They’re wildly comfortable for a thong from someone who despises every thong and even other styles of underwear I’ve ever tried. Picky lady problems, the list went on. Always something wrong about them on my body. NOT THESE! What!?!! I work out in these, run errands, housework ahhhh — they’re my new go-to that I ditched everything else. Comfy, sexy, stretchy, actually so seamless that they don’t exist under clothing, and a fantastic deal… It’s sorcery, I’m convinced." —Ebony Get a set of six from Amazon for $24.98+ (available in women's sizes XS–4X and 10 color combos). Promising review: "I love this. I don't have a pool and wanted to cool off. The sprinkler is fun. You have to push the pillow in. Make sure to try to turn it upside down; it will go in. Great quality. I'm so glad I bought this. Thank you. When I'm done with it, I roll it on its side and let the water out. It's nice to put a radio in your window. Eat a snack and enjoy the sun. The water warms quickly and feels so good." —Melissa L. Brady Get it from Amazon for $28.45+ (available in three sizes and colors). FYI, depending on your situation, water may be enough to rehydrate you! Read more about electrolyte-enhanced drinks and hydration at Cleveland Clinic. Promising review: "Love them. Tastes exactly like melted Firecracker Popsicle. My boyfriend and I have tried my Liquid IV flavors and this is one of our favorites. It is definitely sweet, so if that's not your thing you might not like it." —Samantha McClain FYI, depending on your situation, water may be enough to rehydrate you! Read more about electrolyte-enhanced drinks and hydration at Cleveland Clinic. Funny enough, I am drinking a glass of this as I write this review. If you are used to drinking Liquid IV, this will definitely be a shock to the system, as it is very minimally sweetened and it uses monk fruit as its sweetener. But that is also what can make it so attractive, because sometimes electrolyte drinks can be pumped with sugar or stevia. The water ratio is key to your experience with it. When I first tried it, I added it to a 16-ounce cup with water because of what I'm used to with Liquid IV, and it tasted like lemon water. The directions say to use 8 ounces, but reviewers have noted, and I agree, that using around 12 ounces, along with some ice, is the sweet spot. I also wouldn't think of it as lemonade since sugar is such a big part of what gives lemonade its signature taste. It really is more like a lemon-flavored drink. But my boyfriend and I enjoy it and have been drinking it daily. We've both been trying to cut back on sugary stuff, and like that, this sugar-free option exists because it's not stevia. My only note would be that they could add just a pinch or two more of monk fruit sweetener. Promising review: "BEST SANDALS EVER. I wore these sandals every single day on a 16-day European vacation. I was in the water, streets, sand, and even hiking in these shoes and felt nothing but comfort. Being able to wear something transitional between the water and land was perfect for this trip. The adjustable velcro band stayed fully functional and is still as strong as new. These are by far the best sandals I've ever had." —Jackie Beauvaise Get it from Amazon for $33.20+ (available in women's sizes 5–11 and 20 styles). Promising review: "I bought these sandals before a three-week trip in Europe; I didn't want to pay for Birks but did want something in a similar style with good arch support. I was a little skeptical about the low price but gave them a shot...and they were the MOST comfortable sandals I've ever owned. I walked over 120 miles in them in three weeks on our trip and never once had foot pain. They broke in so quickly and were very supportive from the get-go — and still are! Highly recommend." —Han Lin Get them from Amazon for $34.99+ (available in women's sizes 5–12, including wide sizes, and 20 styles). Carpe is a small biz that creates sweat protection products for the whole body. Promising review: "Bought this for my boyfriend, who is on his feet all day and was always complaining about how sweaty his feet got. He usually had to bring at least one extra pair of socks to change into during the day. He also had to buy shoes more often because of how they smell. It would be impossible for us to get out the smell. Since he began using this product, he can't believe how dry his feet stay ALL day. His socks don't even smell after a full day of work. He's now obsessed, and it's become a part of his daily routine." —Amazonaholic Get it from Amazon for $19.95 (also available with an applicator and in a pack of two). Promising review: "This stuff is AMAZING! Literally nothing else keeps tangles out of my daughter’s hair like this does. Her hair is so thick and very difficult to brush; this makes it easy-peasy to brush the tangles out after a swim in the pool. It also softens her hair. When not used, the pool chemicals make her hair very stiff and dry. We even use this every once in a while just because! It smells wonderful and doesn’t make the hair greasy in any way. I cannot recommend this product enough!!!" —Emily Get it from Amazon for $24.99 (also available in a pack of two or within two sets). Promising review: "This body spray has helped clear up stubborn back and shoulder breakouts better than anything I’ve tried. The 360-degree spray makes it super easy to apply, even to hard-to-reach spots. It dries quickly, doesn’t stain clothes, and has a clean finish. After a couple of weeks of consistent use, I saw smoother skin and fewer breakouts. It’s also lightweight and doesn’t feel sticky. Definitely recommend for anyone dealing with body acne." —Rosiemelisa Get it from Amazon for $14.87 (also available as a two-pack). This spray is safe to be used daily and won't leave behind any residue. Promising review: "Great spray! You get a lot of product for the price, and it’s an alternative to the Tower 28 spray. I’ve been using it for a week consistently now, and I have noticed improvements in my skin; the blemishes I had before are now gone, and I don’t see any new ones forming. Great to use during the summer if you sweat a lot. You can refresh your face throughout the day if needed to get rid of any extra bacteria from sweating." —Dogmom99 Promising review: "I was skeptical after I sprayed this on my arm in a nice air conditioned house. It smelled lovely and a quick sting of mint hit my skin. I was very underwhelmed. It has been a warm day and I took this outside since I knew I would be sweaty and warm. I sprayed this on my “underboob” pre package instructions. Holy wintery coolness! It’s been 10 minutes and I’m still feeling the chill. Apparently, it works REALLY well if you’re sweating. It dries almost instantly and I’m tingly fresh still." —Michelle Get it from Amazon for $12.99+ (available in mint or lavender). They're also great to keep in your gym bag for a post-workout pick-me-up if you don't have time to shower. Promising reviews: "These are excellent for travel and camping. I appreciate that they have no odor and are gentle enough for my sensitive skin." —Cherise "I bike a short distance to work, and I don't usually get sweaty enough to justify a whole shower, but I do want to freshen up some. These are the perfect answer! The packets of 10 are lightweight. They are nicely moist, and each wipe is bigger than a baby wipe, so one is enough to freshen my entire body. The scent is just right: fresh, but not overly strong. I get to my desk at work feeling clean and professional, not worried I stink or that I smell like baby wipes. I will be ordering more!" —Kimberly Sandbulte Get a pack of 50 (five packs with 10 wipes each) from Amazon for $24.99 (also available in a 10-pack or 20-pack of 10 wipes and in a 40-count or 80-count individual sheet pack). So, I got to try these bad boys out and WOW — I cannot deny how accurate the reviewer below was about feeling like I had a bunch of ice fairies blowing on my booty hole (lol, never a sentence I'd ever imagine myself writing). And I also tried them super early in the morning since I try to walk my dog when it's still cool, and all I can say is it will definitely perk you right on up with just one wipe. I'm... unsure if I would use them regularly, but I can definitely say that area felt very refreshed in a way I've never experienced before. So, I could totally see it being an "acquired taste" kinda thing. But I LOVED the size of the wipes. I'm part of the 🍑 big booty brigade 🍑 and I love using flushable wipes, but hate how small most brands are. This size is perfect! Promising reviews: "Might be overwhelming at first, but once you realize it is actually millions of little ice fairies exhaling a cool breeze on your business, you succumb to the pleasure." —AMoose "I’ve tried many other scents from this brand, and this one takes the cake. It is a little strong at first; it does take some getting used to, but it’s the most refreshing clean feel compared to toilet paper or the other scents. Regular mint probably takes second place. These are a really nice size and thickness to the wipes, overall an awesome product. Repurchased many times." —Butterfly Get a pack of three from Amazon for $16.98 (also available in a single pack or six-pack and in seven other scents). Note that the AAD recommends using at least SPF 30 and reapplying as needed for skin protection. You can read about sunscreen myths and facts from dermatologists for more information! Promising review: "I have always struggled with oily skin. I've finally gotten my oil under control thanks to my current skincare routine, but SPF remained a challenge. Nearly everything I tried left me shiny or quickly got greasy during the day. This SPF spray is a super-fine mist that almost feels like nothing is being sprayed on my face. It doesn't leave behind anything shiny, which is unheard of for a SPF 50 spray. I personally love the smell; however, some may find it a bit too much for their liking." —Stephanie Note that the AAD recommends using at least SPF 30 and reapplying as needed for skin protection. You can read about sunscreen myths and facts from dermatologists for more information! Promising review: "This sunscreen is well worth it. I used it all summer and never got burnt. It lasted tanning, swimming, and walking around outside every day. I would reapply it every hour or so to ensure coverage. It is really lightweight and doesn’t feel like a thick sunscreen. It had a nice, subtle smell that wasn’t overpowering. I am happy I got so many bottles to last the summer, and the slim packaging was nice to take in a bag. I will be getting it again!" —Savannah Get it from Amazon for $9.88 (also available in a stick version). It's machine washable (just remember to take out the ice sheets), and you can also purchase additional flexible ice sheets to keep in your freezer so you always have one ready to go. FlexiFreeze is a small business that specializes using pure water ice sheets in their cooling products. Promising review: "I bought this vest to keep cool while working with my bee hives wearing bee suits that tend to be very hot, and it works great. I have only used it once so far, but I worked my bees for about an hour and stayed very cool the entire time. When I took my vest off, the ice was still frozen. I would highly recommend this vest for anyone who struggles in the heat." —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $134.99+ (available in five colors). They have the APMA Seal of Acceptance, so you know they're legit! Promising review: "Amazingly comfortable! I have a hard time wearing flip-flops because they give little or no support. However, these flip-flops are so supportive that I walked 4 miles in them without even thinking about my feet!" —Amazon Customer Get them from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in women's sizes 5–11 and 17 colors). Promising review: "I use this product daily because my feet sweat a lot. It's completely transparent when applied, as long as you shake it before use. Otherwise, it creates a whitish film. It controls perspiration and doesn't dry out the feet. It lasts all day. It doesn't stain socks or shoes. It acts as a deodorant, and a bottle for daily use can last up to two months if used sparingly. It's totally worth it, and its transparent appearance even allows you to wear it in open-toed shoes. It also eliminates bad odors." —Mey Get a three-pack from Amazon for $22.47. Promising review: "I use this religiously at work every afternoon as a pick-me-up when my skin starts to feel hot, flushed, and dry from the stale office air. I also live in Utah, where the air is extra dry anyway. This feels so fresh and light. It calms my skin right down and gives me a little much-needed moisture and glow. And if you just do a light mist and let it completely dry naturally, it won't interfere with your makeup either; no smudging or running." —Angela Thompson Get it from Amazon for $11+ (available in three sizes and a two-pack). Check out how easy it is to apply sunscreen with this clever gadget in this TikTok. Former BuzzFeed Shopping editor, Heather Braga, has also used this and says: "As a parent myself, I can confirm this gadget is fantastic. During the summer, I keep one in my diaper bag to ensure my kids are protected from the sun at all times. My kids loved being 'painted,' and I loved knowing applying sunscreen wasn't going to be a fight. I typically fill ours with Tubby Todd Mineral Sunscreen or Baby Bum SPF 50." Solar Buddies is a small business based in the UK, founded by two moms who set out to develop a product that would make applying sunscreen to kiddos easier. Promising review: "I hesitated, but I originally saw this item on TikTok and knew it would make life SO MUCH easier when it comes to putting sunscreen on myself and my kids, and I have to say, I am NOT disappointed!! The sunscreen goes on so smoothly and evenly, and I feel like I will be saving so much sunscreen now that I'm not just squirting a huge glob in my hands and spending so much time trying to rub in a ridiculous amount into mine and my children's skin. My only regret with buying these is that I wish I had bought a couple more so that I could have different ones for each of the sunscreens we use! But I will be recommending these to everyone!" —Carmen Get a pack of two from Amazon for $22.38+ (available in three solid color packs and eight multicolor packs). So, after writing about this a couple of times and suffering through a number of heat waves this summer, I decided to finally add it to my cart during Prime Day. I was interested in it because of its cooling properties, and it is cooling, but it was just too subtle for my liking. However, I decided to keep it because it truly is a wizard at keeping body odor in check. I always forget to put on deodorant after I shower, and during the summer time, it becomes very clear in a very embarrassing way. But after using this, the smell is SO much less intense than I know it can be, which gives me the lil' reminder I need to throw some on, without feeling horrible that I was possibly stinking up the joint. Promising review: "When I say this works for BO, it’s magic. For someone living in a hot state, working in a hot job, always working out and sweating, this product keeps you in check ALL DAY! No skin irritants, no dryness, and I feel clean. The mint isn’t strong, so you can feel the tingle, but not for long. I let it sit on my skin for at least three minutes before rinsing off. Best soap ever! I will continue to use this. Forget Dove antibacterial, forget Dial, BUY THIS!" —Shelby Get it from Amazon for $15.18 (also available in 10 other styles). It's also safe to use on sensitive areas. Read more about how deodorants that turn skin acidic can help with odor from Mayo Clinic. Promising review: "This body wash is a MUST for me. It really works. I don’t get musty or stinky when I sweat! Sad to say, but I was sick for three days and stayed fresh until the third day. I will keep buying Lume, because it works well to cut odor." —Shirmel Get it from Amazon for $15.47+ (available in four scents; also available in two-packs and in a sampler pack). YAAAALLLL! This cream literally changed my life as a lifetime member of the Thick Thigh Posse! It leaves such a silky matte finish between your thighs that feels so divine when wearing shorts or dresses. Trust that I have tried many, many products to beat chafing, and this is by far one of my top faves. Promising review: "This is the holy grail of no chafing!!! I live by this in the summer, or anytime I have to wear swimsuits, shorts, dresses, or skirts. Goes on easily and does not feel greasy or gross on your thighs. It's unscented, so no strange smells. It also lasts for a long time — lasted all day for a Disney Trip. Best working stuff I have found, works much better than products that are in a deodorant stick style. I will never be without this chafing cream, even my husband has used this!" —aberfitchgr534 Get it from Amazon for $7.47 (also available in a pack of four or 24). Promising reviews: "I’ve tried many thigh saver type under garments. These are the best ones! Silky so they don’t stick to your clothes, comfy, not shape wear, just comfort." —Heidi M. "These thigh savers are a must for summer dress season. They are light, comfortable and fabric doesn’t stick or ride up ever. I have them in sand as well. Love them!" —Maggie D. Get it from Knix for $39 (available in two absorbency levels, three inseams and in five colors). Promising review: "I used these under my wedding dress recently because we decided to get married in June…in the desert…and heat. Plus, my dress was several layers, so I was afraid I was going to have a heat stroke from walking across the room. Enter: these patches! I put one vertically on the back of my neck (my half-up hairstyle covered the patch well), one on my lower back, and one on each hip under my chub-rub shorts. They stayed on for the whole 45-minute ceremony, the one-hour photo session after, and the entire four-hour reception, and I was able to regulate my temperature despite all the fabric on my dress. Not the usual use for these, but bride's gotta do what a bride's gotta do, haha." —AmandaG Get a pack of four from Amazon for $19.49. Promising review: "I have tried numerous pillows over the years with only one or two I would really call good. This pillow is GREAT. Not only is it just as advertised, but I would say even better. I fluffed this for a good 48 hours before use by following instructions, and even flipping it over a few times during the 48-hour period. It was like a cloud from heaven and still is after a solid week and a half of use. There is no doubt that if I fluffed it a little more, it would all bounce back, but I love where it has settled in at this point. It is the perfect blend of firmness, softness, and support. I believe it has even had some noticeable cooling effects as well that I have always thought was near impossible to actually do for me, especially because I am super hot-natured. With the quality of the material, removable case, etc. I imagine this pillow will last a very long time. I am going to be ordering more for everyone in the house as well as for our guest room." —jesse76450 Get it from Amazon for $20.69+ (available with one-sided or double-sided cooling, in packs of one or two, and sizes standard through king; also available as a body or camping pillow). Listen, if you're a sweaty sleeper or you live in a warm climate like me (because unfortunately, the desert was the place I could afford to buy a house), I'm telling you, you're gonna want to have like three or four sets of these, so you never have to go a night without them during the warmer months. The fabric is sooooo lightweight and silky on your skin. And as a plus girlie, I love that it's super stretchy and adaptive to my body. It is a tad on the sheer side, but if you go to bed with someone, I don't think they'll be mad at that fact (lol). I just probably wouldn't wear it without a bra to pick up the mail, if you know what I mean. And then, you know, anything that's a bottom with pockets is an automatic add-to-cart for me. But that being said, I wouldn't say the pockets are structured enough to carry a ton of stuff or super heavy stuff — like probs just your phone and some lip balm, your AirPods, or a small snack. But love how comfy they are! Promising review: "Very soft and comfortable. Breathable for the warmer nights!" —Morgan I Get it from Tommy John for $99 (originally $110; available in women's sizes XS–XXL and in dove heather or black). Check out a TikTok of the mosquito-repelling bracelets in action. Promising review: "I moved last year from Southern California to North Carolina. Bugs of all types have always been attracted to me, but the number of bites I got last summer was WILD. Someone gave me one of these types of bracelets to use one day, and it seemed to work SOOOOOO I decided to buy myself an arsenal to prepare for this summer. I read the reviews, and about 99% of them had great results. I've only used this bracelet twice, but both times I was outside and untouched. Delivery was very quick, so that was a plus. I'm not fond of the smell, I'm hyper sensitive to smells, but I'd rather have the odor than being chewed alive." —Tracey Agopian Get a 10-pack from Amazon for $8.99 (available in four types and in packs of 25, 50, and 100). I guess I just really didn't realize HOW big of a difference it makes (or real talk, I totally underestimated the difference) until I tried out these ~divinely~ cooling sheets. I live in the desert where temps can get well past the 100s for many days in a row, and our AC has been having issues again this summer. Thankfully, we got a swamp cooler to help with keeping the main part of our house cool, but our bedroom can still feel like a sauna. I can't tell you how delightfully lovely it was to get into bed with this set. Silky is an understatement — this is like a fine, whipped butter against your skin. And I was SO shocked at how cool I felt on them and, again, that's with no AC. I can only imagine we'd be shivering if the AC were working. They've truly been a Godsend during this heatwave going on. One thing I will note, though, is that they're pretty thin, and we have a mattress protector on the bed that pills like crazy. So the sheets are thin enough that we can feel all that pilling (which is def motivation to pull out the fabric trimmer). Not a knock against them AT ALL, but just something I wanted to call out! Promising review: "I’ve never splurged like this on pretty much anything for myself, but this was soooo worth it. I got these sheets to hopefully help with my sleep because I’ve not been sleeping well. It definitely makes a difference to have these. They are nice and cool. They fit great, and they wash great! The wash instructions and everything were included. Because they’re on the spendier side, I wanted to make sure I had all of the info I needed to take care of them. After multiple washes, they still feel as soft as they did when I first got them!" —Kmart76452 Get a full size set from Amazon for $288 (available in 10 colors and in sizes twin–California king and in a split king). And can we talk about those deep pockets?! If your mattress is 16 inches deep or less, you'll be obsessed. Promising review: "I’ve been meaning to buy 100% cotton sheets because I’m a very hot sleeper, and after ordering these, I wish I had done so sooner. Immediate difference in my sleep quality. These sheets are very cooling, insanely soft, and so so comfortable. My only complaint is that I wish they were a little more opaque because you can see the design on my mattress through the sheets; however, they don’t feel thin whatsoever, and I love the color and look they give to my bed." —Nina Get a full set from Amazon for $41.64+ (available in single or double packs, in 43 colors and sizes twin–California king, with a split king size). Bonus: it has a heating mode that warms like a sauna for the winter and is great for sleepers with chronically cold feet. BedJet is a small business that creates climate control bed systems. Promising review: "Look. I live in Phoenix right now. It gets hotter than hell here. It's disgusting. Sleeping during the summer is a nightmare. It was 90 degrees the other night, and it's not even the worst of the summer. The BedJet actually kept us cool and comfortable all night!!!! It is silent, and it works incredibly. I know it's expensive, but it is worth every penny if you sleep hot or live in a godforsaken place like Phoenix. Other benefits: it was incredibly easy to set up. It fits under my bed, and my comforter hides the tube. It's like it's not even there. The remote is super nifty. And it even CAME WITH BATTERIES. When does that happen these days? I literally don't have a single negative to report. I have already texted my friends and family to spread the gospel of BedJet." —Kaley Repp BuzzFeed Shopping is service journalism first: our writers and editors spend all day shopping so you don’t have to, vetting products, fact-checking brand claims, and surfacing what actually helps in real life.
