A conservative member of the Australian Parliament has gone viral after yelling at his dog during a live TV interview.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, who joined far-right Sen. Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party last year, was appearing on ABC’s “7.30” when anchor Sarah Ferguson challenged him over Hanson and her recent meeting and podcast appearance with British anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.

Ferguson asked Joyce, who resigned as deputy prime minister in 2018 amid scandal:

“It seems to me, your decision to defect to One Nation is dragging you further into a place of intolerance and racial discrimination. You’re defending your leader, but are you really comfortable with where she is taking you?”

Joyce began to respond, then suddenly loudly and forcefully shouted: “Sit down.”

“Sorry, it’s a dog,” he explained with a chuckle, before arguing that a growing number of Australians want “a change in direction” for the country.
