I am so happy to report that “Toy Story 5” is GREAT! As a Senior Talent Booker and Producer at BuzzFeed, you can typically catch me flailing about the buzziest TV shows and movies. New episodes every Sunday; streaming on AMC+ Interview with the Vampire returns, but this time, we're covering the second book in Anne Rice's series with The Vampire Lestat. This new season follows Lestat (Sam Reid) as the world's first immortal rock star, as he embarks on a multi-city tour. While Lestat's new lifestyle has him moving wherever and experiencing all different places (and people), he's still haunted by "muses" from his rebellious past, like Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson). With a few episodes out already, this season is proving what an icon Reid is as Lestat. He was born to play this role. With each new episode, he remains intoxicatingly amazing as Lestat, one of the many, many strengths this show has. If you haven’t jumped on the Interview with the Vampire train yet, I don’t know what you’re waiting for at this point. It’s one of the best shows on TV. Reid and Anderson are so incredible together as they bring to life one of the best romances of all time. Our favorite toys are back in the fifth installment of this beloved franchise. And, I’ll start with what everyone wants to know: Yes, it’s good. Yes, it’s funny. Yes, I liked it more than Toy Story 4. This movie picks up after Woody (Tom Hanks) decided to leave the comfort of Bonnie's home and help abandoned toys alongside Bo Peep (Annie Potts). Now, Jessie (Joan Cusack) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) are in command of Bonnie's room. Everything is going smoothly until a now-8-year-old Bonnie becomes enamored with her new favorite toy: a frog-like tablet named Lilypad (Greta Lee). Soon, tech invades their home, and Jessie is determined to stop it to preserve Bonnie’s love of playtime and her imagination. As I mentioned, this is a very solid movie in the Toy Story franchise. I laughed. I cried. I loved being reunited with these toys that I’ve literally grown up with. The first movie came out a month before I was born, and now, 30 years later, I am so excited to still be with these toys. I just did a complete rewatch of these movies after seeing Toy Story 5, so just know that it’ll likely be in your future, too. Voicemails for Isabelle follows Jill (Zoey Deutch), an aspiring chef who is known for two things: being a hopeless romantic and her unconditional love for her sister (Ciara Bravo). However, after her sister dies, Jill keeps her memory alive by leaving her voicemails about her chaotic life in San Francisco. When her sister's number is unknowingly reassigned, an elusive Austin real estate agent (Nick Robinson) begins receiving the hilariously confessional messages. THIS MOVIE WILL MAKE YOU CRY! IT WILL ALSO MAKE YOU LAUGH AND WARM YOUR HEART. That’s basically all the review you need from me. Voicemails for Isabelle is a very solid rom-com from Netflix, and it hinges on the great chemistry and leading performances from Deutch and Robinson. It’s great to have Robinson back on my screen, and he pulls off the leading rom-com man energy perfectly. Again, I’d suggest grabbing a box of tissues and settling in for yet another great rom-com to add to Deutch’s list of great rom-coms. Based on writer/director Hayley Kiyoko's hit single and novel of the same name, Girls Like Girls follows Coley (Maya da Costa), a new girl in town who suddenly finds herself falling in love for the first time with Sonya (Myra Molloy), the “cool girl” who has typically only dated boys. Set over the course of one sun-drenched summer, the movie explores first love, finding your voice and identity, and more. This movie immediately transports you back to the 2000s, which is a perfect setting for this coming-of-age film. Kiyoko does a great job at directing this movie, which hinges on the standout performances from da Costa and Molloy. The YEARNING they bring to Coley and Sonya’s romance is so deliciously good. I’m hoping this leads to more leading roles for da Costa because she carries this film. I have no doubt Girls Like Girls will get added to the list of great LGBTQ+ romance movies. You know, a classic network TV drama or comedy that you’ll end up falling in love with. So, I want to know which long-running show you’ve recently binge-watched and loved. Right now, I am in the middle of my first-ever ER watch. I’m on Season 11. I am loving every second of it. I started watching it because of Noah Wyle in The Pitt (and because I love Grey’s Anatomy and a good medical drama), and it has been so amazing to watch for the first time. I also wasn’t spoiled on much prior, which made it even better. I now understand why people fell in love with George Clooney. THE CAROL AND DOUG ROMANCE. I sobbed over Mark Greene (IYKYK). Maura Tierney is the perfect addition to the show that I can’t believe she wasn’t in it since Season 1. Also, because they are some of my favorite shows of all time, I also need to mention The Vampire Diaries, Gilmore Girls, and One Tree Hill. I think they are perfect binge-watches, and everyone should watch them at least once! I watched TVD live from day one, and I grew up with Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill, so trust me. You must watch! Have a question for me, or want to tell me what you’re watching right now, or have a suggestion of what I should watch next?
