Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) was unimpressed with President Donald Trump’s attempt to saddle him with a nickname.

“I didn’t think it was his best work as nicknames go,” Ossoff said on MS NOW when asked about the president calling him “Os(jerk!)off” in a social media rant on Wednesday. “But more to the point, he is increasingly unstable. And I think that it flows from the fact that he is globally humiliated from this failed war.”

This week, after nearly four months of war, Trump signed a “deal” with Iran that ceases the violence and reopens the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, Iran will receive $300 billion for the “rehabilitation and economic development” of the country, and all U.S. sanctions will be lifted. Critics have said this is little to no improvement over what existed before the war, and even Republicans have attacked the agreement.

“This is a debacle for our national security. It is a debacle for the Trump presidency,” Ossoff said. “And we see him lashing out and behaving erratically in ways that put the nation at risk.”

Ossoff made similar comments to TMZ as well.

“He is a disgraced president, humiliated on the world stage by his failed war,” Ossoff said. “Raking in billions for himself and his family while he makes you pay more for gas, for groceries and for health care.”

Ossoff added that he didn’t care about the new nickname. When asked if he felt the need to respond with a nickname for Trump, Ossoff said: “I’m good.”

Trump once had an insult comic’s knack for saddling rivals with ugly nicknames: “Lyin’ Ted” for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), “Little Marco” for then-Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who is currently his secretary of state, and “Sleepy Joe” for President Joe Biden.

But he hasn’t really reached those levels in recent years.

Trump never quite found his groove against 2024 Democratic rival Kamala Harris, bouncing around from “Crazy Kamala” to “Comrade Kamala” to the low-effort recycled “Lyin’ Kamala,” among others. His best effort for mocking Florida governor and 2024 GOP presidential rival Ron DeSantis was “Ron DeSanctimonious.” And Trump tried to saddle former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who was once a close ally, with “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown,” but then he had to further explain: ”...because green turns to brown under stress.”
