“I got in trouble because I was on the internet in the middle of the night when my sister was trying to call my parents to say she went into labor...” As a staff writer at BuzzFeed, I write about all things celeb, pop culture, and books. "My friend had four older brothers. This is how it was trying to get him on the phone: Me: 'Hi! Is Peter home?'Brother: 'Yes, he is!' *click* Me: 'Hi! Can I speak to Peter?'Brother: 'I don't know, can you?' *click* Me: 'Hi! May I speak to Peter?'Brother: 'I don't see why not.' *click* "I got in trouble because I was on the internet in the middle of the night when my sister was trying to call my parents to say she went into labor. We still made it in time, though." You can listen to an audio recording here. "I'm amazed most of our moms didn't get fired. I remember calling her work for the most ridiculous nonsense." "I saw my first R-rated movie because my dad was supposed to get Dragonheart, but he accidentally picked up Braveheart." "And then using a pencil to try to rewind it." "I was a very gifted student in a small, rural elementary school, and I was responsible, and no one had any clue what to do with me all day, seeing as I would always get my work done so quickly. They must have had a meeting about me, because one day, I was pulled aside and told that I was now in charge of the computer mice in the whole school. They would just send me around to labs, classrooms, and even the front office to take all the little rolly balls out, clean them, and wipe down all the mice. This happened at any point during the day when it was clear I didn't need to be in class any longer, and then they would send another student to come find me when they wanted me back. The '90s were wild." Note: Some responses have been edited for length/clarity.
