Spike Lee Has A Blunt Demand For ‘Motherf**king ICE’ If The Knicks Win The NBA Finals

Spike Lee is predicting a “love fest” on the streets of the Big Apple if the New York Knicks win the NBA Finals — and he doesn’t want ICE anywhere near it. The director and longtime Knicks fan, in a recent interview with Andscape’s Bill C. Rhoden, described the city as “going to be bananas” and “craziness,” whether the team wins at home or on the road against the San Antonio Spurs. “And NYPD can’t control that. The Marines. National Guard. Just don’t bring in the motherfucking ICE,” Lee stressed. “No ICE. I’ve said this more than once. ICE is not welcome.” Lee, a noted critic of Donald Trump and his administration, has been among a number of big names who have spoken out about the president’s immigration crackdown. Earlier this year, he signed his name onto a Change.org petition that called for the “immediate closure” of the notorious Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the largest family detention center in the United States. In his interview with Rhoden, which dropped a day before the Knicks’ Game 3 loss, Lee declared that New York was “going to” win its first championship in over half a century despite the NBA Finals being far from over. The Spurs’ Game 3 victory set the stage for a massive, likely Trump-free Game 4 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. A Knicks win would put them up 3-1 in the NBA Finals. All but one team in NBA history has gone on to win the series when up 3-1.
