You don’t want to land in Spain without a filtered water bottle or an outlet adapter — trust me.

I'm a resident writer on the Buzzfeed Shopping team, where my love for shopping (and doomscrolling on TikTok) helps me curate lists of the most trending lifestyle, home, beauty, and fashion products.

Spain is full of gorgeous architecture, breathtaking beaches, inspiring museums, and the best sangria you’ll probably ever have. It’s a place that the second you leave, you'll already be planning your next trip back. If that sounds like heaven to you, check out this list before hopping on the next flight to endless sangria and tapas.

Prepare with fans and water bottles to stay cool in the Spanish heat. Whether you're headed to the dry heat of Granada or the sticky humidity in Barcelona, you'll be set. Another necessity: Shoes that feel like walking on clouds, even over miles of cobblestone roads. You don't want to miss out on some of the hottest nightclubs in the world because of blisters and aching soles! And don’t forget about pesky pickpockets — keep one step ahead with anti-theft bags and storage.

Everything you need to have a smooth trip to Spain is right here. There’s even a cute linen set that I can already see you wearing on a stroll through the Park Güell. BRB, gonna plan my next Euro-summer!

A crossbody iPhone wallet to keep your phone right where you need it, no matter the outfit. It's perfect when you're trying to pack light, so you don't have to stress about stuffing a purse into your carry-on or lugging it around all through Parque de El Retiro. This holds your phone tightly away, and the extra pocket can fit up to six cards. You'll probably end up using this even after your vacation.

*Pssst*, this is waaayyy more affordable than the $98+ Bandolier version.

Promising review: "Bought with hesitation for traveling! Didn’t think I’d like it that much, but cannot believe how much I loved this thing! It looks like real leather, and it’s well-made. Held my phone very snuggly. Lots of room in the wallet part. I got this for travel because I didn’t want to have to carry a purse all day. This was amazing to have! It held my cash and cards and left me hand free, which was sooo nice. The strap is long enough so you can talk on the phone comfortably with it still connected." —Dee

Get it from Amazon for $32.99+ (available in iPhone four sizes and four colors).

Or a stash scrunchie for when you don't want to try to fit a handbag in your luggage but you still want to be cautious of any pickpockets. This blends right in, while holding onto extra cash, keys, Advil, or even just some lip balm. So you can run around Barcelona, recreating scenes from The Cheetah Girls 2 with no extra bags or thieves holding you back from ~strutting like you mean it~.

Hustle and Sew is a small Etsy shop based in Saint Helens, Oregon.

Get it from Hustle and Sew on Etsy for $8 (available in 14 scrunchie colors and three zipper colors).

A linen-blend maxi skirt and halter set that is so ready to be paired with a glass of sangria — I can see it now. Small PSA, miniskirts aren't a big no-no, but it is seen as more respectful to wear longer length skirts and dresses, especially around religious sites. This set is lightweight, so you can breeze through the streets without overheating under the hot sun. You'll probably want to live in it for your whole trip, but it's also the perfect set to mix and match with different tops.

Promising review: "This set is seriously so much cuter than I could’ve thought! Normally, things that are flowy on both the top and bottom aren’t for me, but this couldn’t have been further from the case when it comes to this set! I walked all around Europe in it, and it was so comfy! This is your sign to get it. 😏😏" —Anonymous

Get it from Free People for $98 (available in sizes XS–XL and seven colors).

A peplum waist jumpsuit so you can save some extra space in your luggage, while still getting a wave of compliments as you strut through the Gran Vía. The peplum waist adds that extra va-va-voom that works for a casual brunch spot *and* a fancy paella dinner restaurant.

OneSize On 'Til Dawn setting spray, if you like your makeup staying on your face instead of rubbing off on your flamenco partner. Its weightless, waterproof formula gives you an airbrush-like finish that won't make you want to crawl out of your skin from layers of product. Sweat is inevitable, so it's best to be one step ahead. My glam survived a whole sunrise swim after a night out when I visited Spain, thanks to this, so that should be enough proof! (Highly recommend doing that by the way.)

My review: I LOOOOOVVE THIS SETTING SPRAY!! I am a ride-or-die fan of OneSize because it actually works. Especially as a concert/festival goer, I need my makeup to look like it did when I arrived, even after hours of sweating, intense dancing, and sometimes tears. It also isn't like other setting sprays that leave your face soaking wet, where your makeup ends up just melting off. This sprays "dry," so it doesn't feel like you are adding another layer of product. I also love it for days I use only liquid products, as it absorbs extra oil, so I don't look like a glazed donut. It's almost like a spray-on translucent powder!

Promising review: "I have extremely oily skin to the point that if I wear makeup, by the end of the day, I’m able to easily swipe my fingers across my face and my makeup comes right off. I naturally sweat profusely regardless of the weather, but summertime is worse. This setting spray is the only one that actually locks my makeup in place. This is a holy grail item that I will never go without now. Spend the money because it is worth every penny. Oily girls, buy this. Sweaty girls, this is the product you want." —LaurenNicola

Get it from Sephora for $34 (also available in a mini size).

A lightweight scarf, because Spain is full of the most beautiful religious sites and churches that you don't want to miss because of your outfit. Many places don't allow exposed shoulders or bare arms, so you'll want to have this on standby when it's time to cover up.

Promising review: "I’m so glad I snagged this before leaving for my honeymoon in Spain and Italy! We toured a lot of churches and its always good to have something on hand to make sure you’re covered out of respect for the spaces. It was lightweight but still just enough to keep warm in cold buildings or brisk morning air." —Shauna

Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in 39 colors).

An anti-theft leather backpack so you can still feel like a Euro fashionista without stressing about sticky fingers getting to your wallet. This genius design has a large main pocket on the back of the bag, making it tricky for anyone to reach the zipper. It's made from genuine leather and features an adjustable strap that lets you transform it from a backpack to a tote bag to a crossbody, depending on the look you want to whip out that day. No pesky pickpockets are gonna ruin your trip *or* your outfit.

Promising review: "Did a weeks-long tour of Europe with this backpack. It holds SO many items you need and the location of the zippers make you feel secure knowing no one can get inside and steal your valuables. The pockets on the side are perfect to hold a small, compact umbrella (which came in handy in London and Paris) and a refillable water bottle on the other side. The adjustable straps make it very easy to find the perfect spot to sit and not cause back pain or shoulder pain. On top of all that, it’s all leather, it’s stylish, and it’s pretty!" —Dianna

A waterproof phone pouch because you are going to want to capture every moment of snorkeling in the Canary Islands. This locks up your phone to keep it safe, dry, and still usable as you float through the waves or try for the perfect beach selfie. You'll also be the lucky one whose phone still works when your vacay destination gets hit with an unfortunate downpour.

Yes, most phones say they are waterproof, but you can never be too careful. Especially when it comes to the charging port — I learned that the hard way.

Promising review: "Bought these for my whole family to wear at Disney World...worked wonderfully through the rain and rides like Splash Mountain and Kali Rapids. Would definitely recommend." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in 14 colors).

A universal travel adapter that'll have all your friends shouting "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?" when they realize outlets are different internationally. It works in over 160 countries, so you'll be set if you decide to hop on the metro for a quick trip to Portugal. It can also charge up several devices at once, so you can share with your crew who didn't do their research.

But remember that this is not a voltage converter!

Promising review: "I am a digital nomad, so I travel full-time around the world. I have a lot of devices to charge (laptop, Kindle, phone, backup battery, portable Wi-Fi device, camera, the list goes on). A lot of times, hostel bunks or hotel rooms only have one outlet, and with the previous adapter I was using, I had to charge one device at a time. I used to literally set my alarm to wake up in the middle of the night and switch devices so that I could get more than one device fully charged overnight. I did my research finally and settled on this one because it is universal and has four USB ports. What a GAME CHANGER. On my latest trip, I was able to charge all my devices at once, and it made traveling so much smoother. It seems well made and good quality, too. Definitely recommend for my digital nomad and traveling peers. Happy travels! :)" —Maggie A.

Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in two colors).

A Brita filtered water bottle, if you don't want to spend half your budget on buying bottled water. This has a built-in filter right in the straw so you can get a fresh ~ahh~ sip from any tap or water fountain. Certain areas of Spain can have tap water with natural minerals that give it a slightly salty taste, so you'll want to have this on hand to stay hydrated while completing your step goal x10.

Promising review: "We took these on our three-week backpacking trip to Europe last month, and they were fantastic. We could fill them up at public places, sinks, and bathrooms, and the water was clean to drink and tasted great everywhere we went. They are high-quality and hold up to being dropped a lot. Now that I’m home, I have continued to use it, and it’s great to fill it up around the house through the day and have clean water that doesn’t taste like tap water." —Ryan

Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in three sizes and three colors, or in stainless steel for $27.99).

A portable lock box so your whole group can actually enjoy Spain's beautiful oceans instead of working security shifts. Also, god forbid a girl wants to take a beach nap without being on high alert. This takes away all the stress by stashing away your phone, wallet, and keys. Just clip it to your beach chair and watch your friends chant "MVP, MVP" as you ALL go for a swim.

You can also use this in your room to keep valuables protected. You can either set a three-digit combination code or use the provided key!

Promising review: "This is a must-have for vacations. We took it to Atlantis in the Bahamas, and it worked perfectly. It held our phones, room keys, etc., while we were out enjoying the beach or pool. Just looped it to our beach chair or table. Highly recommended." —Amazon Customer

A hands-free, rechargeable neck fan because no one told you Spain has minimal AC! Well, now you know. It has three adjustable speeds with a multi-stage air duct that keeps the fan super quiet, meaning you can hit all the tourist spots without attracting too much attention (though you might catch a few envious stares from people wishing they had their own fan).

It provides up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge, depending on speed and usage.

Promising review: "I absolutely LOVE this fan!!! It goes everywhere I go these days as I suffer from frequent hot flashes. I even keep it on my nightstand at night for night sweats so I don’t have to blow my husband away with the ceiling fan. This fan does a great job of cooling me down before I get too sweaty. It’s fairly unobtrusive and sits around my neck like a set of headphones. Most people don’t think twice about it. The noise level is fine for me. On the high level, it’s a little noisy in my ears, but I don’t think it’s as noticeable to others. Also, I love the three different levels. High is great for those really raging, stubborn hot flashes that take a few minutes to fizzle out. Finally, the battery power is amazing. I’ve gone as long as a week without charging, and it still works fine for my regular usage level (5–6 times a day for a few minutes during each use). If you use more, you could still likely get by without charging daily. I HIGHLY recommend this fan!!!" —Carrie Black

Promising reviews: "These shoes were the most comfortable platform sandals I’ve ever worn, straight out of the box. Promising review: "I've used these bags before, and they are so helpful. Even use the medium one for travel, and I have tons of extra suitcase room. The clothes don't come out wrinkled at all as long as you fold them nicely before placing in the bag, then the air sucks out, keeping them safe and sound and very compact." —Susie Kochsmeier

Promising review: "I LOVE THIS CHAFING STICK! I have tried a lot of the other ones on the market, and this is my favorite one! It has a smooth glide that feels similar to Vaseline, but nothing uncomfortable and no smell. I recently went on a trip to Spain and walked five to seven miles a day, and did not experience any chafing with just one application at the beginning of the day. You literally just pat the poof on your scalp and then rub the powder in. I do have black hair so dry shampoo is usually very visible in my hair, but I didn't have any harder time than usual rubbing this powder in. It's formulated with hyaluronic acid to help keep your skin hydrated, plump, and looking smooth. Don't let the "tackiness" freak you out, that just means it's working!

Check out our Instagram post to see just how grippy it really is. Yup, that's me in the video and photo above!

My review: This is my HOLY GRAIL primer! I use it every time I have a big event or just need my makeup to last more than an hour. As an acne-prone girly, I've tried so many primers to find one that doesn't irritate my skin and actually leaves it looking relatively smooth. This one has yet to let me down! Make sure to wait 30 seconds before applying your foundation to ensure it has fully set, since it does go on a little tacky. Also, ALWAYS PAT IN for best results. I have made the mistake of rubbing it in like other primers, and it doesn't leave the same smooth finish, or it will clump up a little. The cooling gel is also so nice because it makes your skin feel hydrated and helps your makeup not flake off. It is water-based, so I recommend checking your foundation ingredients to ensure it is compatible. The rule of thumb is: Water-based primer goes with water-based foundation, and silicone-based primer goes with silicone-based foundation.

Promising review: "I got hooked on a little sample of the Milk Hydro Grip primer, but when I went to buy it...$36 for a relatively small bottle! I wanted to find a good alternative, so I bought this. It is PERFECT! Nearly identical formula. I have sensitive skin and this did not break me out. It really does help keep makeup on all day and makes your skin look smooth. I highly recommend this." —Allison

A microfiber towel that won't take up any space in your luggage or be annoying to take around from beach to beach. Sometimes hotels and hostels don't provide the best towels (or enough of them) so this will be your god-send for post-shower or when you want to get your Euro beach on.

Promising review: "We got these for our trip to Europe. Knowing that the towels abroad are horrible we decided we needed better. We also knew we couldn't haul around your typical fluffy towel. We were so glad we found these. They are soft and to absorbant and best yet they roll up to be so small. We are now brining them to the gym and the pool. They are fantstic and dry so quickly." —andrew pezley

A flat fanny pack that can fit right under your clothes because no pickpocket is getting you today — trust me, it is not fun. It's slim but still has enough room to fit emergency cash, cards, and passports. You'll probably also get asked to hold a couple of things for your friends who didn't get the memo. Bonus: it features RFID blocking that prevents anyone from scanning and stealing personal info from your credit cards or passports.

Promising review: "Discreet yet spacious. I purchased this for a recent trip. I was able to fit my phone, passport, credit cards, and cash in it easily, and it wasn’t bulky or obvious under my clothing. It was comfortable to wear for extended periods of time." —KailensMom
