I make dried oranges every year for Christmas, and this is the dehydrator I have! I have a small apartment, and deciding to get this was a big (counter space, especially) investment. For my family, it earned its spot of honor after the first batch of berries. We make fruit leather and dehydrated fruit constantly for ourselves and our toddler. We're big hikers, and having a dehydrator (especially one with this much space) makes dehydrating soups for our packs a cinch. And as I said above, the astronaut ice cream hack is REAL.
