Chris Van Hollen Just Backed Kash Patel Into A Corner With This Test Result Reveal

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) just did something that probably won’t thrill Kash Patel. He posted the results of an alcoholism test online Wednesday, and is daring the FBI director to do the same. The Maryland Democrat’s post was in connection to an exchange he had with Patel on Tuesday over The Atlantic’s story last month about Patel’s alleged excessive drinking habits. Van Hollen and Patel’s discussion about the accusations in the article was charitably called “bonkers” by some people, with the two repeatedly calling each other liars. Still, it ended with Patel agreeing to undergo a test for alcoholism as long as the senator did the same. On Wednesday, Van Hollen followed through and posted what he said were his results from the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, a screening tool developed by the World Health Organization to determine if someone has an alcohol use problem. “Given all the lies he told yesterday, I imagine he’ll fudge the numbers here, but let’s see yours, Director Patel,” he wrote in a tweet. Yesterday, @FBIDirectorKash told me he'd take the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test if I did. Well, here's mine. Given all the lies he told yesterday, I imagine he'll fudge the numbers here, but let's see yours, Director Patel. pic.twitter.com/rYH2WupWb3 Patel hadn’t responded to Van Hollen’s post of his test results as of Wednesday afternoon. If he does take it, the results will not qualify as an official diagnosis as the test is self-reported.
