As King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrive in Washington DC Monday afternoon, attention is turning to where the royal couple will call home during their stay. They won't check into a hotel, but rather one of the city's most exclusive addresses. Here's what to know as the pair kick off their four-day visit to the United States. The king and queen are expected to stay at Blair House while they are in DC, according to British publication ITV. The residence is being transformed into their "home away from home," with British and American flags lining the street, the New York Post reported. Blair House — also known as The President's Guest House — is a 120-room complex comprised of four connected row homes. Built in 1824, Blair House was purchased by the U.S. Government in 1942 to be used for official diplomatic housing. Since then, it has hosted "some of the world's most influential leaders," including Queen Elizabeth II in 2007. It also hosts the president-elect before the inauguration ceremonies. "Blair House holds a special place in the life of our nation. For generations, this residence has been the quiet, dignified bridge between the White House and the world," First Lady Melania Trump said in a prepared statement last year. "It has offered warmth, security, and hospitality to kings and queens, presidents and prime ministers, and leaders from every corner of the globe." Located at 1651 Pennsylvania Ave NW in DC, Blair House is across the street from the White House. Blair House is not open to the public.
