The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a new photograph to mark Prince Louis' eighth birthday - showing their youngest son on a family holiday to Cornwall. The prince - smiling and wearing a blue zip-up jumper - has his arms folded and onboard a boat, with the sea behind him. The image was shared on royal social media accounts by Prince William and Catherine who wrote: "Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!" followed by a red balloon emoji. The photo was taken by photographer Matt Porteous earlier this month. Porteous has received royal commissions in the past from Prince William and Catherine, including for behind the scenes moments from Louis' christening. He also took pictures of Prince George on his third and fifth birthday, as well as the Wales' family Christmas card for 2022. Prince Louis Arthur Charles - known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Wales - was born at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington on 23 April 2018. He is third child of the Prince and Princess of Wales after Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10 and is fourth in the line of succession to the throne. Known for his cheeky antics, the prince rarely accompanies his parents on royal engagements, but is often seen at significant events including the annual Trooping the Colour Parade and Easter Sunday. Charles received the badge at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire for his personal work in promoting nature and sustainability. On what would have been her 100th birthday, the final design for a statue honouring the late Queen Elizabeth II is unveiled. A special collection of stamps marks the centenary of the birth of the late monarch. Plans for the St James's Park memorial are unveiled on what would have been the late Queen's 100th birthday. The Royal Family will be remembering the late monarch at events on Tuesday - on what would have been her birthday.
