18 BRUTAL Opinions People Have About Generation Labels

Because WHY are we fighting about age groups? It’s about time we unite (yes, even you, Gen Alpha). Because HOW can some of them drive already?!?! No shade, just crazy. "I mean, I'm considered Gen Z as well, but I don't have that strong feeling of connection to my whole generation. Some people share my experiences and views, no matter what 'Gen" they were born in. Even inside Gen Z, there are so many people that don't share any thoughts or experiences in life. I just feel like the view of an entire generation, as the US media does a lot, is a straight-up wrong view of the world. Does anyone feel the same?"-- u/Alleskalaaron "And it doesn’t even stop at childhood! Adulthood is also full of things that can change a person, for the better or worse. Losing a loved one, finding a friend group, a nasty breakup, finding answers to a question you always thought about… and so much more! Human brains are so complex… their place in time is just one tiny way our lives are influenced."--[deleted] "The fact that we're in a fourth turning gives me hope for the future. I'm really hoping the economy gets better and people won't be drowning in their expenses. Is 2028 the last year of this period?"--u/Notequal_exe "I put the rebirth at 2036, but there will be a great crisis in the late 2020s. It's not a precise timeline. I am confident that good-hearted people win over the forces of evil. It's time to remember how to dance together."--u/Tempus__Fuggit "Generations are never great ways to identify large groups of people, just ways to identify among a defined community/group. Plus, Gen Z is probably at its most diverse point right now. You have people in their mid-to-late 20s and early teens. Drastically different places in life. When you're the age of Millennials now, there'll at least be some more consistency to where you all stand."--u/trthorson "I wonder if it has something to do with so much past culture being available to consume these days that truly no one from Gen Z is experiencing a similar culture. I was born in '85, so whatever was on TV was what we watched. The only way to experience past cultures was to have someone tell you about them, or maybe you’d catch a documentary on TV. Now there are so many blurred lines."--u/Recent_Meringue_712 "That’s not to say assholes and idiots don’t exist in every generation. Kyle still owes me $20 from senior year of high school…"--u/Dwain-Champaign "I agree it isn't anything anyone should take too seriously, but identifying these patterns can be useful for understanding human psychology."--u/aphrodora "It's not only about tribalism, but also consciousness of time. That's why you see so many Gen X'ers in this sub. It's not that they're feeling like Gen Z'ers themselves; it's that they're analyzing how OUR generation works, because it's important information for most of them right now, and every generation should do the same."--u/Contrapuntobrowniano Note: Some comments/images have been edited for length/clarity.
