Faye Dawson lost control of the Vauxhall Corsa she was driving on Delphouse Road in Cheadle on March 7, 2025, said Staffordshire Police in a news release. She had been traveling at 80 mph — 20 miles over the speed limit — on the wrong side of the road in the lead-up to the incident. There were five teenagers, aged 14 and 15, in the Corsa at the time, UK news outlet LBC reported. Four of them were injured in the crash, with one requiring hospital treatment for a spinal fracture. Dashcam footage recently released by Staffordshire Police shows the teenagers screaming and asking Dawson, 50, to slow the car down. "I am a rally car driver and a bitch," she's heard telling them. "You get in here with your life." She is also heard asking them, "Are you buckled in? Because if you die, I am not responsible for you," adding, "I am not a safe driver. Right now I am on alcohol and have had a smoke, so I am even more f---ing dangerous." Dawson, of Nicholson Road, Cheadle, was sentenced to one year and two months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on March 25, after previously pleading guilty to dangerous driving, per the BBC. She has also been banned from driving for four years and seven months. “Dawson's actions were reckless and selfish, and this custodial sentence reflects that," said PC Luke Randall, in charge of the investigation, per Staffordshire Police's news release. The teenage girl who suffered a spinal fracture said in a statement obtained by LBC, "I thought I was going to die. I had to have time off from school to recover. "I feel very anxious in vehicles. I have nightmares and flashbacks. I had to live with back pain for six months," she added. Read the original article on People
