I’m not gonna lie, some of these jobs actually sound super interesting.

Also, to note — poverty in the US is defined by the census as a family whose "total income is less than the family's [poverty] threshold." That threshold is a dollar amount determined by the size of the family and the age of the members. 

Contrary to the belief of some Republican politicians, living in poverty is not due to not knowing how to budget. Instead, Feeding America says, it is most commonly a result of "low wages and unemployment, lack of affordable housing, racism and discrimination, and education and healthcare."

And unfortunately, jobs are not a clear answer to escaping poverty nowadays, especially in America, where 9.3 million Americans are working multiple jobs (the highest recorded ever in a 2025 report).
