The Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH) layer-2 network said Friday it has gone live with xStocks in collaboration with Bybit, BackedFi and Flowdesk, giving users on Mantle’s Fluxion exchange access to tokenized versions of major public equities around the clock. What gives the rollout a bit more weight is the way it has been structured. Tokenized equities have been easy to talk about for a while, but harder to make feel native to on-chain markets once questions around liquidity, execution and distribution come into view. Mantle is clearly trying to solve for that part of the equation by pairing tokenized stock exposure with Fluxion’s hybrid AMM and RFQ setup, while also using Bybit as a direct deposit and withdrawal gateway for xStocks. Mantle said xStocks are fully collateralized tracker certificates compliant under the Swiss DLT Act, and framed the launch as part of its broader push to become a distribution layer for real-world assets rather than just another chain hosting them. That framing comes through in the executive comments as well. Mantle advisor Emily Bao said real-world assets need the “reach and rails that institutional adoption demands,” while xStocks GM Val Gui said tokenized equities can make public-market access more global, programmable and connected to on-chain capital. Mantle also said this is only the first phase of a broader roadmap, with xChange support and an xPoints loyalty program still ahead. If that roadmap holds, the more interesting shift here may be that tokenized equities are starting to be judged less by whether they can exist on-chain and more by whether they can trade, distribute and scale like they belong there. Mantle (CRYPTO: $MNT) cryptocurrency is currently trading at $0.6877 U.S. per digital token.
