A tweet written nearly a decade ago by then-Democratic nominee for president, Hillary Clinton, resurfaced on Tuesday following President Donald Trump’s genocidal threats against Iran.

“A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons. —Hillary,” Clinton wrote on July 28, 2016.

"A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons." —Hillary

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) dug up the tweet and reposted it online after Trump posted this message on Truth Social:

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!” Trump wrote Tuesday morning.

Swalwell also joined numerous politicians in calling for Trump’s removal from office under the 25th Amendment.

The tweet prompted many users to say, in some form: “Hillary was right about everything.”

Maybe they listen now https://t.co/zRLY4Sektl

She continues to be right about everything. https://t.co/PDKc4lRPlL

Hillary knew and spoke the truth 10 years ago. https://t.co/MmgneqEIaB

Reposting for no reason whatsoever... https://t.co/NSAlzmaZEA

Everything Hilary said was right. https://t.co/rO2jlCMFzN

There’s always a tweet. https://t.co/OoofznQla1

This wisdom has aged well, no? Albeit with irony. Now it's "a madman who baits the world with a tweet is not a man you can trust with nuclear weapons." https://t.co/OAKYdLzVtr

As we get increasingly concerned that a certain needless war is escalating to go nuclear... Just remember who said this 10 years ago. https://t.co/6GMtbI1a3N
