Living with sensitive skin requires some extra thought in the things you purchase. Skincare, clothing and bedsheet material, and laundry detergent especially. Whether you're looking for a fragrance-free option with the NEA stamp of approval, easy pods you can just toss in and forget, or a plant-based option that keeps both your skin *and* the planet in mind. There's a lot to choose from, but these are the most gentle laundry detergent options for sensitive skin. Take a look! This Tide Free and Gentle Liquid Laundry Detergent is crowned the best of the best not only because it's effective on stains and is an unscented dream, but also because the gentle, hypoallergenic formula is certified and accepted by the National Eczema Association *and* is recognized by the National Psoriasis Foundation, which is no easy feat these days in a landscape full of harsh dyes and potent perfumes. This detergent is specifically designed for sensitive skin to help limit skin irritation. This has the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance. Promising review: "I’ve tried a lot of laundry detergents over the years, and 'free and gentle' versions can be hit or miss — sometimes they’re gentle but don’t clean well, or they clean well but still somehow irritate skin. This one actually hits the balance. The first thing I noticed is that it’s truly fragrance-free. Not the fake 'unscented but still smells like perfume' situation — just clean clothes with no lingering scent. For anyone sensitive to smells or skin reactions, that alone is a huge win. Performance-wise, it handles normal laundry really well. Every day, clothes come out clean, and I haven’t needed to use extra product or boosters. It also works fine in cold water cycles, which I use most of the time... Overall, this is one of those practical purchases that just makes life easier. It does its job without causing problems, and that’s exactly what I want in a detergent." —Nichole Get it from Amazon for $12.97+ (available in seven sizes), Target for $13.99+ (available in four sizes), or Walmart for $5.44+ (available in five sizes). Tablets are just as easy as pods, but are WAY more eco-friendly because there's no plastic casing, and these are shipped in reusable tin canisters (and the refill bags come in compostable paper packaging 👏), 2. The free and clear scent truly is fragrance-free, and 3. They clean incredibly well! Dirt, wine, and "ectera" stains are outta there. Promising reviews: "So I was skeptical about these. It's hard to know if your clothes are really getting clean sometimes. However, I have extremely sensitive skin, so if particles — dirt, pollen, germs, etc. were being left on my clothes, I would expect my skin to start breaking out in rashes, and so far that hasn't happened. And dropping a tablet in the wash is easy for my autistic son to do when he's doing his own laundry." —Gwen E. "Laundry was my first step towards a non-toxic or low-toxic lifestyle. This is the best non-toxic laundry detergent I have found. Highly recommend." —Kelley R. Get the starter kit (tin + refill bag) from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in two scents), or straight from Blueland for $25.99+ (available in two sizes and three scents).
