“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday accused President Donald Trump of “mob boss level intimidation” by attending a Supreme Court hearing on his attempt to end birthright citizenship via executive order.

He was the first sitting president to attend oral arguments, but the day probably didn’t unfold as he expected, and Colbert made a crack about Trump’s notoriously short attention span.

“If you’re wondering how President Adderall could sit through a whole day of legal proceedings, the answer is that he couldn’t,” Colbert said.

Trump watched as his solicitor general faced hostile questions from justices on both sides of the ideological spectrum.

“The justices did not buy any of his administration’s arguments,” Colbert noted. “So, midway through the morning, a humiliated Trump stormed out of the catastrophic SCOTUS hearing.”

The audience cheered wildly at that last phrase, which came from a Daily Beast headline about the president’s trip to the high court.

“Humiliated or just confused?” Colbert wondered, then broke out his impression of a confused Trump at the Supreme Court.

“Well, that was awkward. All nine of them wore the same black muumuu,” he said. “The worst production of ‘Sister Act’ I’ve ever seen!”
