Update: 1 dead after Monday morning crash on I-630 in Little Rock

Update (3:39 p.m.)- LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Arkansas State Police say one person is dead and one other is injured after a crash on Interstate 630 Monday morning. ASP officials say one car tried to merge from the third to the fourth lane near University Avenue when it hit another car, causing the second car to go across lanes of traffic before hitting the concrete barrier. Officials say the passenger in the second car died, while the driver of the car that hit the barrier was injured. The driver of the first car was not injured, according to state police. The names of the individuals involved in the accident have not been released as of Monday afternoon. Update (9:30 a.m.)– LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the accident on Interstate 630 near University Avenue in Little Rock was cleared just after 9:10 a.m. Monday. ARDOT officials have not released further details on the crash, including if there were any injuries.
