Tops Markets is recalling Christopher Ranch 6-ounce peeled garlic products due to improper storage temperatures that could pose serious health risks to consumers. The Class I recall, dated Tuesday, affects all code dates of the product with UPC 00007457410852. The garlic requires storage between 32 and 37 degrees, but the store’s open-air coolers cannot maintain this temperature range. A Class I recall is the most serious category, indicating that eating the food may cause health problems or even death. Tops Markets has removed the affected product from shelves and implemented a blocking system at checkout to prevent any inadvertent sales of the recalled garlic. Customers who purchased the product can receive a full refund with valid proof of purchase.
