'What Do People Want From This Guy?' Jimmy Fallon Asks Amid Trump's Polling Fall

“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon on Monday joked that President Donald Trump’s “record-low” approval ratings were even slightly below the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump’s approval rating is down to 34%. “Just to give you an idea, Jeffrey Epstein’s at 35%,” Fallon said. But the comedian appeared to show a sliver of sympathy for the commander in chief’s polling woes. “I don’t get it,” Fallon began. “TSA lines are four hours long. Gas costs more than gold. We just started a war in the Middle East. I mean, what do people want from this guy?” While the joke didn’t get big laughs from the studio audience, at least one political forecaster could make Democrats smile. Last week CNN stats wonk Harry Enten said the president’s numbers are “the most troublesome sign that I have seen for the president of the United States and the Republican Party so far. ... [It’s] just a political nightmare waiting to happen for the Republican Party come the midterm election.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
