Jimmy Rosselli and Griffin Wright shed all impartiality in calling No. 12 seed High Point University’s shocking 83-82 victory over No. 5 Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament’s first round on Thursday. But once you watch their unfettered excitement in the frantic last minute, you’ll understand why. Rosselli and Wright, the student-radio basketball broadcasters for the small college in North Carolina, lost their shit, to put it mildly. “Throw on the glass slipper! It’s a Cinderella story in Portland, Oregon!” Rosselli yells in the clip below. “For the first time in program history, High Point breaks through. We’ll see you in the round of 32! Oh, what a feeling!” The two posted a split screen of their reactions to what was happening on the court. It’s been watched more than a million times. HELLO SATURDAY!!!! pic.twitter.com/aLqSp4XyC3 The broadcasting pair earned viral fame around this time last year, after High Point came from behind to win the Big South Championship final. In an unedited audio clip from Thursday’s game, the sportscasters carried on. “This is not real, Jim! This is not real!” Wright tells Rosselli. High Point now faces a fourth-seeded Arkansas team coached by John Calipari, who once led Kentucky to a national championship. It doesn’t get more real than that. Asked if the team had a chance, Wright told the New York Post, “It’s March.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
