Greenville production plant sends employees home after overhead dispute

Employees at the FRAM production plant in Greenville were recently told they did not have to report back to work. According to the Greenville Daily Advocate, the facility had been in operation for over 75 years, but a conflict between Honda and its investor, Onset, has put work there to a halt. The plant was initially set to close on April 30, but the dispute sped things up. Ending production on March 7, employees were told to have their personal items cleared last week. Employees will reportedly receive a paycheck through April 30 and will then be eligible for unemployment. The Daily Advocate has more on this story, including comment from the United Auto Workers Local #2413 (the union for FRAM employees) and employees. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
