If the Oscars gave out an award for best dressed, it would be the most hotly contested prize of the night. Hollywood's biggest stars turned on the style as they walked the red carpet for the glittering ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday. They included One Battle After Another's Chase Infiniti (below), who has announced herself as both a major actress and a fashion icon this year, and who wore a lavender custom Louis Vuitton gown. Rose Byrne, nominated for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, wore a black custom Dior dress embroidered with an intricate floral pattern. Best actress favourite Jessie Buckley capped off an awards campaign for the ages in red and pink - a change from her usually subdued colour palette. British actress Wunmi Mosaku, nominated for best supporting actress for Sinners, cradled her baby bump in a glittering gown with a cut-out shoulder. Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve, nominated for Sentimental Value, has favoured Louis Vuitton throughout her awards season campaign. For the Oscars, she wore a simple yet striking custom red Louis Vuitton dress by Nicolas Ghesquiere. Demi Moore, last year nominated for her daring comeback role in The Substance, returned and went full-on in feathers in a Gucci creation. Best actress nominee Emma Stone arrived in a shimmering oyster Louis Vuitton gown. Kate Hudson, who is nominated for best actress for Song Sung Blue, arrived with her mum Goldie Hawn - 56 years after she won an Oscar for Cactus Flower. Teyana Taylor, as notable in awards season for her fashion choices as her performance in One Battle After Another, wore black-and-white custom Chanel. One Battle After Another star Leonardo DiCaprio opted for a traditional black tuxedo, while fellow best actor nominee Timothée Chalamet, nominated for Marty Supreme, went for all-white. Sinners star Michael B Jordan is among the other contenders for best actor. Pedro Pascal's oversized white floral brooch was so large he had no room for his bow tie or tuxedo. Hamnet actor Paul Mescal came with his girlfriend, singer Gracie Abrams. Sinners star Li Jun Li turned heads in a sleek swirled Gaurav Gupta creation. Weapons star Amy Madigan is nominated for best supporting actress, four decades after her last Oscar nomination for Twice in a Lifetime. Marty Supreme star Odessa A'zion walked the red carpet wearing an embellished black gown. Norwegian actress Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas is one of four stars from emotive family drama Sentimental Value to be Oscar-nominated. Her co-star and fellow nominee Elle Fanning wore a white princess gown by Givenchy. Last year's best actress winner Mikey Madison may have matched her velvet gown to the red carpet. The stars behind the KPop Demon Hunters music - Rei Ami, Ejae, and Audrey Nuna – walked the red carpet to warm up for their performance of their mega-hit Golden during the ceremony. Former Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, wearing a Chanel gown, has been enlisted to present an award during the ceremony. Australian actor Jacob Elordi is nominated for best supporting actor for Frankenstein. Succession star Kieran Culkin is no stranger to awards season, having swept the supporting actor category last year for his performance in A Real Pain. He returns to the Oscars this year as one of the category presenters. One Battle After Another star Regina Hall opted for a black and gold gown. Marty Supreme actress Gwyneth Paltrow, dressed in a white gown cut down the side, is presenting a category during the ceremony. F1 star Damson Idris looked smart in an ink blue overcoat with furry lapels and a jewelled brooch. Ahead of the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, Anne Hathaway wore a flowing strapless floral dress. Last year's best supporting actress winner Zoe Saldaña returned, wearing a lingerie-inspired Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello dress. Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, best known for Netflix drug drama Narcos, is nominated for his role in political thriller The Secret Agent. Director Spike Lee, with wife Tonya Lewis Lee, showed his distinctive style with a suit featuring a purple fedora hat and matching bow tie, and a bag made of silver cassettes. Bella Thorne decided to go with a black feathered cuffs and a sheer slip. Hamnet author Maggie O'Farrell, who is nominated for co-writing the screenplay for the film adaptation, opted for a bubblegum pink gown with black lace gloves and mesh fascinator hat. Ballet star Misty Copeland's monochrome outfit featured a playful tutu. She will dance on stage at the ceremony during the performance of the nominated song from Sinners. British actress Felicity Jones, who is in best picture nominee Train Dreams, picked pale yellow Prada. Hudson Williams may not have been nominated at the Oscars, but he has been one of the most notable breakthrough actors of the past year, thanks to his role in TV series Heated Rivalry - the viral hit about two ice hockey players who fall in love. The other big names at the ceremony included Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Sigourney Weaver. Fashion star Heidi Klum was also among the stars walking the red carpet. Songwriter Diane Warren, who is nominated for best original song and is hoping for 17th time lucky at the Oscars, wore an elegant satin suit topped off with a black neck bow. Amelia Dimoldenberg, who has returned to the Academy Awards as red carpet reporter and social media ambassador for the third year in a row, wore a sculptural black Ralph Lauren column gown, Jimmy Choo shoes and Bvlgari jewellery. By Ian Youngs, Steven McIntosh, Scarlett Harris and Lucy Talavera. Voiced by Domhnall Gleeson and directed by John Kelly, Retirement Plan is nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards. The stands were packed for one of the most anticipated days in the racing calendar. Timothée Chalamet triggered backlash after he dismissed ballet and opera as arts that audiences do not care about. Ice Cube's alien invasion adaptation receives five Razzies, which go to the year's worst movies. Getting nominated once for an Academy Award is a feat but Geeta Gandbhir is nominated twice this year - for two separate films.
