A New York State Police trooper sustained minor injuries after being struck during an early morning traffic stop on the Thruway in Westchester County. Two troopers were conducting a traffic stop on a 2025 Mercedes sedan along the right shoulder shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday in Mamaroneck. The Mercedes was operated by Siiyer W. Walker, 52, of Connecticut. While the troopers were standing near the Mercedes, a 2007 Chevy Suburban operated by Kevin Ariel Cunache Moyolema, 24, of Connecticut, rear-ended the patrol car. The impact pushed the patrol car into the Mercedes, which then struck one of the troopers. The injured trooper was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and was later released. The second trooper was not struck. Moyolema was transported to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation of minor body pain. Walker was evaluated by emergency medical services at the scene but declined transport to a hospital. The investigation is continuing. Read the original article on syracuse.com. Add syracuse.com as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
