A local Elmira business sold one third-prize winning ticket in the Saturday, Feb. 21 Powerball drawing, New York Lottery said.

The prize-winning ticket − worth $50,000 − was purchased at the Ayra Foods & Beverages store located at 502 Broadway in Elmira.

The winning ticket picked up in Elmira was not the only Feb. 21 Powerball winner in New York state. Nor-Cross Service Station in Whitestone also sold one prize-winning ticket worth $50,000.

The Powerball jackpot continued to climb ahead of Saturday’s drawing on Feb. 21, standing at an estimated $190 million, with a cash option of $88.5 million.

Winning the Powerball third prize requires matching four of the five white ball numbers, plus the red Powerball.

The winning numbers for Saturday, Feb. 21: 27-28-36-48-49 and the Powerball: 21.
