‘Barrel bomb mufti’ sentenced to life in Syria

Ahmad Hassoun, a top religious official under Bashar al-Assad’s former regime in Syria, has been sentenced to life in prison. Known as the ‘barrel bomb mufti’, Hassoun was found guilty of committing war crimes during the country’s nearly 14-year civil war.
