Syria restores credit card payments in effort to rejoin the global economy

Syria has authorised banks to work with Visa and Mastercard as part of efforts to rejoin the global economy. The EU has agreed to restore fuller trade ties with Damascus, though Syria still seeks removal from the US ‘state sponsors of terrorism’ list.
